If your child took Spring pictures, here is an update from Spencer Studios: When schools and businesses shut down, Buchanan's photos were in processing at the photo lab. The lab also had to close. We have reached out to them and once we hear back and secure the pictures we will be in touch to arrange pick up options best for you all.
Be sure to continue to check updates and access resources through the EBR School's District website:

Will students still receive grades? During March 16-April 10th there will be no grades or attendance taken. Enrichment materials provided for students are to help sharpen their skills and help them maintain what they have learned.
Will spring break change? At this time EBR has not made a decision if we will still get spring break. This decision should be made in coming weeks and when it is made I will give you an update.
How will students make up missed time? The required 63,720 instructional minute requirement per year shall be suspended which means the missed days will not have to be extended into the month of June. Therefore we do not anticipate any extension of the school year at this time. These events are unprecedented and the situation is constantly changing. I will keep you posted. Take Care, Mrs. Britten
Nurses will be at our school to give back medications. See images below. Buchanan’s day is Thursday, March 19th.
We will be out of school March 16 - April 10, 2020 due to the Governor's Proclamation. We want all of our families to be safe during this difficult time. The EBRPSS Child Nutrition Department will be serving free, grab-n-go breakfast and lunch at seven school sites beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020 - McKinley Middle, Park Forest Middle, Capitol Middle, Wildwood Elementary, Woodlawn Elementary, Progress Elementary, & Northeast Elementary.
Students return on April 13, 2020. All teachers have created learning opportunities for all of our students. All K-3 teachers sent home work packets on Friday, March 13, 2020 for students to work on while they are at home. Grades 4 & 5 will have their students work online either in Google Classroom or on the teacher's website. Ms. Washington and Ms. Lolis sent home work packets for their students. If you need work packets or access to assignments, please contact the office. We want to make sure that our students continue to sharpen their skills while they are at home. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Buchanan's first Black History program in 20 years was a huge success! All of the students and staff did a phenomenal job with their performances. The program took us through history by starting with the accomplishments of several people in Africa and continued up until today. The staff did a wonderful job of coordinating and working with the students. Enjoy some of the pictures from the program.
