Beginning October 5th, students on the hybrid model (attending 2 days a week) will begin attending in-person classes 5 days a week Monday through Friday.
Students who wish to continue learning in a 100% virtual environment will still be able to do so. If a family would like to opt back to in-person learning, please complete the Buchanan Student Learning Option Survey. The change of options must be completed September 28th to allow time for us to prepare for additional students.
We are encouraging students that are struggling academically or having issues with virtual learning to choose the in-person learning option if possible. Click the link below.

Arrival for Hybrid In-Person Students:
*Arrival begins at 8:00am
*Breakfast in Classrooms is served 8:00-8:20am
*Students are tardy after 8:30am
*Parents/Guardians are not allowed in the lobby during arrival
*Parents/Guardians will not be able to escort their child(ren) to class
CARPOOL: Please use East Johnson Street to enter the Carpool Line. Do NOT allow your child(ren) out of the car until after their temperature is taken and until the staff person gives the "ok".
WALKERS: Walkers must enter through the front doors of the school. Their temperature will be taken when they arrive.
BUS RIDERS: Bus riders will have their temperature taken as they get off the bus.
***Students with temperatures higher than 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to remain at school and must wait 24 hours after being fever free to return***
Dismissal for Hybrid In-Person Students:
*Walkers will be dismissed first at 3:00pm
*Carpool students will be called when their vehicle arrives

*Cars are not allowed in the front of school.
*Please do not park and come to the front door. Students will not be called from the front door.
*Buses will line up in the front of the school. Teachers will walk the bus students to their bus.
*Parents/Guardians are not allowed in the lobby during dismissal.

We will return to school for grades Pre-K through 5th with a hybrid model starting September 14th:
*Last names A-K will attend in person on Monday & Tuesday and learn virtually Wednesday-Friday.
*Last names L-Z will attend in person on Thursday& Friday and learn virtually Monday-Wednesday.
*Students in low-incidence self-contained classes will attend in person four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
*Contact Principal Britten for siblings with different last names to arrange attendance on the same days.

Hi Parents! After considering feedback from all stakeholders, the first day of school will be August 10th and all instruction will be 100% virtual (online). The school district will evaluate the situation by Labor day to determine if and when we will move to the hybrid model of face to face & virtual learning beginning with PreK - 2nd grades. Most of our students already received district chromebooks. We will be distributing district devices this week to those students that do not have district devices. All students must use district devices for instruction. See the dates & times on the Back to School tab.

You are doing your best to ensure learning is still happening!!!
We truly miss our bobcats!!! We are excited that learning will continue at Buchanan Elementary beginning April 27 - May 21, 2020 through online classes! PreK - 5 teachers will be conducting online instruction through Microsoft Teams on specified days, and daily assignments will be posted so our students will be ready for the next grade level. We strongly encourage all students to participate in the virtual lessons and complete the daily assignments. Your child's teacher will be contacting you soon to ensure you are able to access their virtual classroom and assignments. Online instruction is used so the teacher can provide classroom instruction with students, check on them, talk to them, and assist them in understanding skills and concepts.
